The Artistic Process

Every artwork has its own rhythm

From reading the wall to choosing the final branch, each step is guided by observation, intuition and craftsmanship. This is the journey through which a climb is transformed into a hand-stitched work of art.

Reading the Wall — studying reference photos of the route

Reading the Wall

Every wall holds a story waiting to be discovered.

Before a single thread is chosen, I spend time listening to the rock. Its streaks, textures and fractures slowly reveal a rhythm that cannot be seen at first glance.

Drawing the Route — sketching the line of the climb

Drawing the Route

The first thread is drawn with a pencil.

The sketch is where instinct begins to take shape. Each line traces not only the path of the climb, but the quiet balance the embroidery will later follow.

The First Marks — the first needle punctures in the fabric

The First Marks

The paper takes its first breath.

Every carefully pierced point gives the drawing a physical presence. What was once only an idea becomes a path, ready to welcome the thread that will bring the wall to life.

Choosing the Palette — selecting thread colours to match the rock

Choosing the Palette

Every thread carries a different emotion.

The palette is chosen slowly, balancing warmth and coolness, depth and light. Only when the colours feel alive can they begin to tell the story of the wall.

The First Stitch — beginning the embroidery

The First Stitch

The wall begins to breathe through thread.

The first stitch is always the most meaningful. One point joins another, then another, until the rhythm of the embroidery takes over and the artwork slowly begins to come to life.

Completing the Story — selecting the branch that will hold the finished piece

Completing the Story

The last decision is made by feeling.

Every branch carries its own history. I search for the one whose shape, texture and colour quietly belong to the artwork, until thread, paper and wood become a single piece.

The finished artwork — the completed hand-stitched piece

The Finished Piece

The work is complete. The rhythm remains.

Nothing more needs to be added. The thread, the paper and the branch have found their balance, preserving not only the shape of the route, but also the feeling of having been there.
